It's hot here in Texas and staying cool is not easy! Classically, date night consists of a couple cocktails and dinner for most couples. That just isn't my style though. I love creating memories by trying new experiences with my husband! I've created a list of fun date night ideas to do locally, while beating the heat.
Freeplay Arcade
1311 Lipscomb St, Fort Worth, TX 76104
Freeplay Arcade is great for a classic, all-inclusive, one stop date night. For a $12 entry fee, you get
access to over 90 classic arcade games. The best part is it's actually "free-play." Your entry fee covers the cost for all of the games you play. You'll find games like pinball, Pac-Man, Skee Ball, Mortal Kombat, Space Invaders, and many more. Not only is there a wide selection of classic games, but there is also a full bar and kitchen on site. One of my favorite things about Freeplay is that it's kid friendly every day of the week before 9:00pm.
Pete's Dueling Piano Bar
621 Houston St, Fort Worth, TX 76102
Have you ever been to a piano bar? Grab your significant other and go now! Dinner and a show are what you'll get at Pete's Dueling Piano Bar. Established in 1992 this Fort Worth fav has entertained numerous folks weekly. You'll experience singing waitstaff, signature cocktails, and a very entertaining piano show. You're not going to be able to resist singing along or even shimmying a bit. If you're planning on going on a double date with another couple this would be my top recommendation as the place to take them.
Wishbone and Flynt
334 Bryan Ave, Fort Worth, TX 76104
For all of my foodies, I recommend heading toward S. Main St. and visiting Wishbone and Flynt. Right around the corner you'll find this exclusive eatery that specializes in made-from-scratch, globally
inspired small plates and drinks. Sitting down to catch up on life with your partner is always nice. It's even better when paired with a one-of-a-kind dining experience. Once you finish your meal, head down the back hallway through their wine cellar and you'll find a speakeasy inspired cocktail lounge, The Amber Room. This is one of Fort Worth's best kept secrets. Serving seasonally crafted sips, you will be sure to come back time and time again. To top off date night, head back around the corner to S. Main St and visit Emporium Pies. Grab a late-night espresso with a sweet slice of pie.
Hotel Drover
200 Mule Alley, Fort Worth, TX 76164
Sometimes a few hours in the evening are just not enough for a date night. How about a staycation? Hotel Drover is luxurious and
rustic hotel located in the heart of the Fort Worth Stockyards. This hotel offers two bars, a high-end restaurant, a fitness center, and luxurious pool. You'll feel like you left Texas and gone to a resort in another country here. While enjoying your stay you can take a few steps outside of the hotel to enjoy a wine tasting at Cowtown Winery, shopping at some unique retailers, and even a night out at Billy Bob's. Want something a little more entertaining? Be sure to get tickets to the Rodeo that is just a few steps away from the hotel.
Pinstripes
5001 Trailhead Bnd Wy, Fort Worth, TX 76109
Bowling, bocce ball, live music, delicious food, creative cocktails, and community events are all happening here at Pinstripes. If you're
the competitive type, this is the place for you. Enjoy some healthy competition with your partner, in a fun environment for adults. Each day of the week Pinstripes offers great food and drink specials to accompany your bowling or bocce ball games. If you want to go out with a group of friends for date night, this is a great space for large crowds or private events.
